Cuti-cuti Malaysia

Hi there! Long time din update my blog already... Why? Coz was travelling around Malaysia for the past two weeks.. Had been planning for this trip with my friends half year ago.. To pass the boring time besides to know the places where my friends grew up.. Went to Kuantan, Penang, Ipoh, Kuching and Sibu... Play and eat and play and eat and the result... My round face becomes rounder and rounder!!! Sobz...

We set off two days after grand dinner, well equipped for the non-stop tour lasts for 2 weeks...

First stop, Kuantan, a place renowned for its clear blue seawater and clean beaches... Unfortunately, itz not a right timing when i visited there as the waves were strong enough to drag people into the sea due to monsoon season... Yearning to be in seawater enjoying the massage from the waves but...Sigh...By the way, I almost lost my slippers at Teluk Cempedak when i was busy taking photos on the big rocks... Luckily Sook May helped me to pick it up quickly or else it will gone with the waves... Thank you May May!! Owing to monsoon too, the wind was so strong till i felt sick...Really 'makan angin'...lolz! Went to 3 beaches that day, Teluk Cempedak - Chenderiang - Batu Hitam.

This is Teluk Cempedak. I have been here before. Hyatt is near here.

Here, where i almost lost my slipper...

Trace of our visit to Teluk Cempedak, inspired by Ju Ann

This is Chenderiang. I really forget the name of this beach so i am just guessing the name 'Chenderiang'. Here is far more 'peaceful' than Teluk Cempedak. Many Seans coming here for a blissful holiday. The water is calm with not much high waves. Everything is so quiet.

This is Batu Hitam where Shirin and Ah Cha spent most of their time looking for seashells. Sook May and I were just helping around, detecting the beautiful shells then handed to them coz both we were lazy to bring with us bags of shells and travel around... Mou mou dei is indeed the 'daughter of the sea' coz she is very good in searching for the rare shells. The wind here was strong too... I was putting my cap on to avoid too much wind into my head (stupid idea) and i think it helped..

Seashells seashells where r u???

Next stop, Penang. It took 9 hours to travel from Kuantan to Penang! Sat in the bus till my butts shouted pain! Departed at 9am in the morning and reached Penang around 6pm. Since we cant get the bus directly to Penang, we took the bus to Butterworth first then went to Penang island by ferry under the guide of Wan Zhi. Really a wonderful experience... I thought i saw Indonesia at once when i was on the ferry ride... -_-!!

Went to War Museum. It preserves the actual war buildings like forts and cannon and howitzer and Rifle gun. Climbed the ladder which is 4 feet tall and vertically up. This really challenged me coz i have batophobia. I fear of heights. When i looked down during my climb i really felt like wanna faint. I just kept telling myself to hold the ladders tightly so that i won't fall although my hands were tired of keeping my weight on the ladder.. Anyway itz really awesome that i completed that task!! ^.^ Also crawled in the pitch-black tunnel with the entrance warning 'be ware of bats'. Sounds creepy so i switched on my handphone light. Grabbed Mou Mou Dei's bag so tightly.. No bats inside of course...

This is the only picture i have taken in War Museum. Other pictures are in friend's camera..Sincerely thanks to Sheng Yu coz of being our tour guide although he drove recklessly...Haha..No harm feelings k...Thanks to Pat Pat and Uncle Zheng Yang and Siu Mou and Gazat Chee Keong and Wan Zhi and Hua Ge and Brian...Thanks for spending days and cracking your heads to find the next place going...I cant control my tears rolling down my cheeks when leaving Penang...Will always miss you all, my dear friends!

I like this picture very bery much!!

This is Kek Lok Si. Well recognised with the pagoda at the back... Prayed hard for good results...

This is Botanical Garden. Only Uncle's car going there. Monkeys were around craving for foods from visitors and i was afraid somehow they might snatch my camera. It was evening and many people jogging and picnicking on the grassy hills.

This is a rare plant i discovered in the Botanical Garden, just beside the jogging path. People always laugh when see this photo... =P

Two days later, after i finish washing all my dirty clothes at home (i just stayed at home for one day), i was ready to go Sarawak, by flight. I was so uneasy at high altitude until i finish all the mentos as the flight ended. However, I like the feel of flying high when the wheels of the plane detached from the ground and the edifice around looked smaller and smaller. As it was a rainy night, the small plane was shaky. I had to imagine i was in a bus so that i won't scare. Ding's hand almost fractured coz i grabbed too tight...

This is Kuching Airport.

Inside the Sarawak State Library. The transparent staircases are the primary reason Ding brought us there. Cant wear skirts when walking on it...

Civic Centre. Ding Ye works here.. Bird's-eye view of Kuching town

This is a clear evidence i had been to Kuching. See all the cats around? No real cats of course. Barely noticed any real cats walking around. After took this photo it started to rain. Everytime when we wanted to take photos with statues, it will rain. This continues all way long to sibu.

This is Waterfront facing Sungai Igan. I thought it was Sungai Rajang.....

This is 'Ma Zhong Park'. I call this Mahjong Park which sounds better. Statue of Cheng Ho is at the back.

Next, i went to Sibu. Initially planned to go there by boat but due to bad weather it was changed to bus. Took 7 hours to reach Sibu from Kuching which separated more than 400km. (I discovered this on a signboard in Sibu. If fly 5 minutes can reach. Kuching to KL by flight 1hr 45 mins and Sibu to KL 1hr 50mins). Departed from Kuching at 9.45pm. Ding sent us with tears in her eyes... Ding, Thank you and your family very much!! Brought us here and there... Reached Sibu 5am in the morning. Had breakfast in dreams..
Sibu has so many nice foods. Kept eating and eating... Luckily Shirin brought us to Bukit Aur. It's abit runned down but i enjoyed its breathtaking view. Climbed up Bukit Aur via the staircases. This was when Ben Ben (Mei Fern) gasped heavily and was reluctant to continue. For me, itz less strenuous than climbing Bukit Lembing in Kuantan coz of less stairs.

The next day, we went to Long House. The REAL ACTUAL Longhouse. Shirin's dad brought us there and it took an hour to be there, a place known as Durin. The Longhouse is belonged to Ibans. Quite modern their life, well equipped with all the gadgets and electronic devices an ordinary family should have. I like the Ruai part where all residents can gather during free time or big events, just like a hollow trunk. How i hope akasia could be like that. Then i can see Mou Mou Dei, Siu Mou, Ben Ben, Wan Zhi, Ding, Shirin, Pat Pat, Chia Yee, Ah Cha, Sook May, Ju Ann, An Ju Lian, Audrey, Harry, Dai Mou, You Ning and Mik Chiu when i open the door. Then we can play Heart Attack or Kam Min Toi liao...Really miss you guys a lot... Dun have photos here. They're in friend's camera...

The day after itz time to fly back West Malaysia. Sibu had flood. Shirin called that 'King Tide'. Quite serious one... The roads all submerged in water and Shirin's father had to use jeep to fetch us out for breakfast. I am very thankful to Shirin's family. Thank you very much!! I really enjoyed the foods there...Especially snails and crabs..

I was in this plane flying back to West Malaysia. AirAsia AK5261. Was less frightened in my second flight. Just chewed two chewing gums and ate few mentos. Great improvement eh!! The sky was clear. Can see the landscape from high altitudes even if the plane did not ascending more. Best ever experience... Arrived 15 mins earlier than as scheduled..

With then, my holidays with my dear friends ended.........................
Will always miss you all... Thanks for everything...
